There is no charge for the first two false alarms; for the third response, the fee is $50. Annual renewal is automatic at no charge, if there were no false alarms during the previous year. Pets are not allowed in City parks with the exception of Dr. Paul’s Pet Care Center Dog Park, a recreation facility designed for dogs, located at the Sportsplex. For more information on the Dog Park, call 954-346-4428. Animal owners who fail to remove their pet’s waste from the property of others are subject to a $40 fine. Dogs must be on a leash when outside and must have a current license. Dog licenses are renewed yearly at your local veterinarian or at the Pompano Animal Control Center

To register your bike, bring it to the Public Safety Building weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may also register your bicycle at City Hall in the Mall, located in the Coral Square Mall. During the school year, bikes may also be registered through school resource officers. Unregistered bikes found or turned in to the Police Department are held for 60 days and photos are taken for viewing at the Public Safety Building to help identify missing bicycles.

House Parties

Teen Contract is a service provided by the Police Department to help prevent unauthorized house parties when parents are away. A contract between parent and child is drawn up which prohibits any open house parties. The parent then authorizes the Police Department to check on the house to ensure that the contract is being honored. The contract must be filled out in the presence of an authorized member of the Police Department and submitted five days before the parents’ departure date.

Memorial Tree Program

The City’s Tree Memorial Program allows family or friends to dedicate a tree in memory of a loved one. The City can provide a tree at cost and will install the tree within any of the City parks. In addition, a plaque can be placed at the base of the tree. City staff will install the plaque in the ground, which can be 5” by 7” or 4” by 6” and must be provided by the person dedicating the tree.

mini-motorcycles before purchasing one. For example, in order to ride a
mini-motorcycle within 100 feet of a road, you must have a valid Florida driver’s license. The vehicle also must be licensed.
